Nicki Minaj was reportedly arrested at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport while on her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. The “Super Bass” rapper shared a video on social media discussing her encounter with the Amsterdam police.
In the three-minute video, Minaj can be seen speaking with a police officer who mentioned that they wanted to take her into custody for “carrying drugs.”
“I’m not going in there. I need a lawyer present,” Minaj responded, clearly taken aback by the situation.
The officer attempted to reassure her, saying, “We’ll get you to the next show.”
“So, I’m under arrest. For what?” Minaj questioned, seeking clarity.
Following the incident, Minaj posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, explaining that the officers found “weed” in her belongings and took her bags “without consent.” She acknowledged the presence of marijuana but clarified that it belonged to her security staff, not her.
Despite the unexpected disruption, Minaj is scheduled to perform at the Co-op Live arena in Manchester on Saturday night, as reported by NBC News. Fans are hopeful that the show will go on as planned.
