Incubus, the influential California rockers, have unveiled plans for a special tour commemorating the 23rd anniversary of their seminal album “Morning View.” The tour will see the band performing the entire album live across various locations in the United States during August and September 2024. Joining them on all dates will be the prog-rock icons Coheed and Cambria.
The tour aligns perfectly with the release of “Morning View XXIII,” a newly re-recorded version of the original album, slated to drop on May 10, as initially announced last October.
Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd expressed his excitement about revisiting the album, stating, “Roughly 23 years ago, we rented a house by the sea to do an art experiment. The novel environment, combined with momentum, helped us find the FLOW state, and the songs that became known as Morning View have since become indelible parts of our lives.”
Boyd further elaborated, “This album propelled our art experiment, Incubus, into a way of life. Here we are today, some 23 years later, about to introduce a new/next phase of its existence.”
“Morning View XXIII” is not merely a reissue but a reimagining of the 2001 album, reflecting the band’s growth and evolution over the years. Boyd explained, “Morning View XXIII is a re-recording/re-think of the album. We desire to honor its legacy while reimagining it as musicians who’ve been lovingly performing these songs for the last 23 years.”
