Hollywood video game performers, including voice actors and motion capture artists, are set to go on strike.
The strike begins on July 26, focusing on concerns over AI protections and alleged "abuse" in the gaming industry.
SAG-AFTRA, the actors' union, has been in failed negotiations for over 18 months with major video game publishers.
The union demands contracts that include "critical" AI protections to prevent unauthorized AI-generated versions of their work.
Companies involved include Activision Productions, Disney Character Voices, Formosa Interactive, Electronic Arts Productions, and Insomniac Games.
A spokesperson for the video game companies claims they have agreed on 24 out of 25 proposals, excluding the AI clauses.
SAG-AFTRA members in film and television went on a similar strike in June 2023 due to AI concerns.
