 Kangana Ranaut was born on March 23, 1987, in Bhambla, Himachal Pradesh, India. She was raised in a traditional Punjabi family

She has an older sister named Rangoli Chandel, who served as her manager as of 2014, and a younger brother named Akshat.

Ranaut began her modeling career at the age of 16 and moved to Mumbai in 2005 to pursue a career in acting.
