Dev Anand's beloved bungalow in Mumbai's prestigious Juhu area, where he resided for over 40 years, has been sold to a real estate company.
The historic property reportedly fetched a staggering estimated price of Rs 350-400 crore.
The bungalow, which held a special place in the late legendary actor's heart, will be replaced by a towering 22-floor residential complex.
Dev Anand shared this home with his wife, Kalpana Kartik, and their children, Suniel Anand and Devina Anand.
Situated in one of Mumbai's prime residential areas, this neighborhood has been home to notable industrialists and Bollywood stars like Madhuri Dixit and Dimple Kapadia.
The decision to sell the bungalow was driven by the challenge of finding caretakers for the property, as Dev's wife, Kalpana, now resides in Ooty with their daughter, and son Suniel in the USA.
This isn't the first time the family has sold property due to similar reasons. Their Panvel property was also sold earlier. Funds from the sale of Dev Anand's studio a decade ago were used to purchase apartments for Kalpana, Suniel, and Devina.
Dev Anand remains an iconic figure in the Hindi film industry, known for his exceptional work in movies like 'Guide,' 'Johnny Mera Naam,' 'Hum Dono,' 'Baazi,' 'Munimji,' and many others.
The sale of Dev Anand's cherished bungalow marks the end of an era, but his legacy continues to live on in the hearts of his fans, as his remarkable contributions to Indian cinema are remembered and celebrated.
